Tummy Tuck

People may develop a protruding abdomen from a variety of causes, including weight fluctuations and pregnancy.  An abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, in Sydney can create a smoother, more contoured midsection by repairing abdominal muscles and removing excess fat and skin. People commonly find that the abdomen is difficult to contour with only diet and exercise, so this procedure is a safe and effective solution to achieving a range of cosmetic goals.

Your Treatment with Dr. Tim

Dr. Tim works closely with patients to ensure optimal results for every procedure he performs. Women and men typically choose Dr. Tim for a tummy tuck – also known as an abdominoplasty – in Sydney due to his extensive experience and training with renowned specialists across the world. Dr. Tim utilizes the most advanced techniques and his strong sense of aesthetics for outstanding results and faster healing.

Dr. Tim’s patients also benefit from his express recovery process that minimises bruising, swelling, and discomfort for an accelerated healing process.

What to Expect

Tummy tuck surgery involves a horizontal incision, which runs between the pelvic bones along the pubic area. You may also need an incision around the navel to remove excess skin from the upper abdomen and to reposition the navel. Dr. Tim will remove excess skin and fat, and tighten lax abdominal muscles for a slimmer, firmer middle.

Once the incisions are closed, patients should wear an abdominal binder (a broad elastic band) continuously for 2 to 6 weeks. This will provide support and additional comfort during the healing process.

Your Results

Although exact recovery times vary, most patients should see final results within 12 months. Assuming no serious weight fluctuations occur, results are permanent. Tummy tucks are not a substitute for an active and healthy lifestyle, but many people find that they provide an excellent solution to muscle laxity and excess fat and skin around the abdomen.

Many people combine their tummy tuck with complementary procedures to cut down on the overall cost and recovery time associated with having separate procedures. Dr. Tim’s patients commonly combine tummy tucks with liposuction, breast augmentation or an arm lift.
